Mission Statement
Public Health Nursing is the practice of professional nursing designed to promote holistic health, prevent illness, and provide care to all population groups. It ranges from individualized nursing intervention to a global perspective of world health, with the focus on the population as a whole.
It is the mission of Jefferson County Public Health to improve the health of residents in Jefferson County, with health being defined to mean the mental, physical, and social well-being of the people and not just the absence of disease.
