Maasdam Barns at Evergreen Ridge Stock Farm (Photos May 2005)

The Stallion Barn contained sturdy stalls for 2 Percheron stallions, used for breeding purposes. Recently repairs were made, the barn was painted, and the roof was re-shingled. A Louden hay carrier is in the loft, and still works. Looking from the southwest. Built in 1910 by J. G. Maasdam.

Stallion Barn

The Mare Barn had stalls for 10 or 12 mares, and the hay loft was used for hay storage. The Louden-inspired rafter design creates an unobstructed hay loft. The roof is covered in a rubbery-type material, perhaps added in the 1950's, and is wearing off. Repair work needs to be done, but the barn is mostly intact. Looking from the southwest. Built in 1910 by J. G. Maasdam.

Mare Barn

The Show Barn, or Dairy Barn, was built in 1906, before J. G. Maasdam bought the farm. It was used for general purposes, and to show the horses to perspective buyers. It is of post-and-beam construction, possibly using pieces from a previous barn. Some repairs are needed before is deteriorates further. Louden equipment was also found in this barn. Looking from the southeast.
The extension to the left of the barn is a modern metal building.
